Why we chose mission

We love that Jesus loves children – all the children of the world! We’ve been so blessed to live and serve with children in Canberra, ACT. As we entered a new season in life as ‘empty nesters’ the Lord put on our hearts to consider ministry beyond the shores of Australia. We’ve now been invited by the Anglican Bishop of the North Kigezi diocese to come alongside and disciple Bible College students as they prepare to lead churches. Our hope is that many will be equipped to watch their life and doctrine closely as they teach and witness to the next generation, especially children and youth.

Shaping disciples of Christ

The Canon Ndimbirwe Bible College trains students with a certificate or diploma level of theological education while shaping them as disciples of Christ. Under God, Phill plans to disciple students while teaching classes, and Wendy will disciple students while serving in the library. We’re also both looking forward to joining a local church and being involved with the local kids however we can!

When you get that furry tongue from eating a green banana – remember Phill and Wendy who will be surrounded by green bananas! Pray for the real challenges we’ll face, including persevering with huge cultural differences, baby steps with language learning, discerning which opportunities to take, and the pain of leaving our adult children behind.
