Building the Ethiopian Church

The Bible College in Dila aims to train pastors and evangelists for Bible based ministry in both urban and rural contexts. The leaders of the in the church seek to develop skills to prepare workers for the gospel both theologically and through contextualised engagement within their communities.

We have always sought ways to support other believers and walk beside them, asking, “How can we be good stewards with all that God has given us; our skills, interests and relationships?” So, now that our children have grown, we asked “What next?”

Since 2009 we have built relationships with the leaders of the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church (EKHC), who have asked us to join them.

Anthony has been asked to teach at the Bible College, the first established theological college in the region of 22 million people, the Southern Nations. Trudi aims to support the leaders to learn English and think through how to contextually engage in often poor, rural communities in an area of much cultural diversity.
