I’m convinced that the gospel is precious news that gives us hope and purpose. God used my time as a high school exchange student to make me aware of the needs for French people to encounter Jesus. It’s a privilege for me to now be able to serve young people in France so that they can know the goodness of Christ’s death and resurrection.
For centuries, Catholicism has been the dominant religion in France. Yet today, many young people view the Church as archaic and irrelevant, and those who know the gospel of Christ are a minority (less than 2% of the population).
Through student ministry, I get to open the Bible with young people so they can meet Jesus and receive all he has to offer. I live in Poitiers where I work with the Groupes Bibliques Universitaires (GBU). The GBU aims to help students discover the richness of God’s word, reflect on the Bible’s impact on every part of life, and be equipped to share Christ with those around them. University is such an important moment in young people’s lives when they are working out their personal convictions and trying to make sense of the world. Through the GBU, there’s the opportunity to invite students to engage with what the Bible has to say on these things and so hear the gospel. It’s also a strategic time to be discipling and equipping young Christians for a lifetime of serving Christ and making him known!
It’s so encouraging for me knowing that there are people praying for and giving towards the gospel being made known in France. As God’s people, we are united in Christ and invited to participate together in his mission. Your support enables me to be serving here in ministry. Would you consider partnering with me as an expression of our gospel unity?
