We are serving at George Whitefield College (GWC) in South Africa. Nathan teaches the Old Testament and works as Director of Research, supporting Postgraduate students and research, and Diane is the Dean of Women, supporting women students in their study. Our focus is on training people to be able to rightly handle God’s word, think theologically about issues faced on the ground in this context, and to disciple others.
In addition, Diane works as a Bible Translation Consultant for SIL Southern Africa, working with local teams to bring the Word of God into the heart languages of various people groups around the continent.
GWC trains people at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels from all over the continent for Word-based ministries: teaching, preaching, mission, evangelism, lecturing, resource creation, writing, leadership, pastoral counselling, and Bible translation. We have alumni in 17 different African countries, as well as many others places around the world. GWC is one of very few evangelical theological colleges in Africa with a research and writing focus, that is resourcing the African church.
The Southern African branch of SIL brings the Word of God into the heart languages of millions of people, who would otherwise only have it in foreign translation.
We’re so grateful for your partnership in the gospel through CMS. It has been your faithful partnership over the last 15 years that has allowed us to develop long-term, strategic, and meaningful connections.
It has taken time to grow ministries and strengthen the organisations we work with, and it has been a journey to equip ourselves with new skills and learn cultures and languages. Much like compound interest, ministry effectiveness grows with time, and your faithful partnership in the gospel has made, and continues to make, a huge difference.
