Why we chose mission

We became missionaries because God told us to go, and we obeyed! Steven enjoyed his work at the Australian Tax Office and was on a flourishing career path. He later recognised however that this work had no eternal purpose. Sandra was investigating next steps after her career in nursing and was challenged to leave behind the security of home and family to serve God in a new context. God grew both our hearts to seek things of eternal value, and this ultimately led us to serve him in Japan.

Supporting Christians and ministry workers in Japan

Japan is a wealthy nation, but one which faces an atmosphere of despair. This is mostly evident in alarming rates of suicide, teen sexual activity, and social withdrawal syndrome. We long for more Japanese people to receive the hope this world needs – the hope of the gospel.

We have the privilege of being in roles that enable gospel workers to serve effectively so that more Japanese people can know Jesus. Steven disciples leaders and provides essential services to empower missionaries from diverse cultures, helping them reach Japanese hearts with the gospel of Christ. Sandra plays a vital role in supporting missionaries during times of transition, ensuring they are well-prepared for arrival, relocation, or departure from Japan.

Not having to seek employment in Japan frees us to throw ourselves entirely into ministry and see people blossom in their faith.
