Why I chose mission

Knowing and loving Jesus has saved me from darkness and brought me into his glorious light (2 Corinthians 4:6). This light is so bright, and this news is so good that it is for all the world. After serving in parish ministry and later teaching at a Christian university, I knew that God had called me and others to love him with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind. The life-changing light of the good news had come to me, and I wanted to share it.

A need for clear and faithful teaching

In my location, clear, faithful, and biblical teaching of Jesus as God’s one true light for the world is seldom heard. In areas of great spiritual and physical need, God’s people here often look inward rather than out to where God is working around them.

My role is to equip local leaders, who will serve the church and bring transformation to this community. I do this at a Bible college in a key urban educational centre, through teaching at graduate and post-graduate levels.

In Jesus, we live in God’s light. We do this together with those who have gone before us and those who will come after us, with our local gathering of believers and all our brothers and sisters in the global church. Every one of us has our part to play.
