Why I chose mission

From a young age, I always had a fascination with cultures and languages. My studies in sociology and sociolinguistics further fuelled my interest in that area and I envisioned working for an international NGO to make a difference in the lives of people across the globe. Through God’s wisdom and revelation in his word, and through people he directed me to, I came to realise that making the name of Jesus known is far more important – with eternal kingdom consequences – than trying to make a difference on my own terms. Over time, God brought cross-cultural mission to the forefront of my life and put on my heart a deeper and stronger conviction of the need for workers to be sent out on location to work toward a world that knows Jesus.

Training and equipping Christ-believing leaders

In this location, the number of believers is increasing, particularly amongst ethnic minority groups, and many are keen to grow in their faith. The low number of equipped local gospel workers however means that there are not enough Christ-believing leaders to shepherd the flock. By partnering with a local Bible college, I hope to be involved in discipling, training, and encouraging the next generation of Christian leaders that they might be equipped for ministry in their churches and local communities.
