Why we chose mission

There are many needs in the Middle East today. We believe the greatest need is for people to know the forgiveness and love of our heavenly Father through Jesus.

We are so thankful for the people who first shared Jesus with us and helped us understand what it looks like to follow him, and our prayer is that God would use us in this same way to grow his kingdom on location.

In the Middle East there are many people who don’t know anyone who follows Jesus. They don’t have people who can walk alongside them and help them understand what it looks like to live for Jesus. As a family, we aim to serve in this part of the world to help individuals come to genuine faith in Christ.

Building relationships to share Christ

God willing, at the start of 2024, we will be moving to a gospel-poor part of the Middle East as long-term cross-cultural workers with CMS.

We will be joining a team that supports new gospel workers while they learn Arabic and culture. That will largely be the focus of W’s first few years on location.

S, on the other hand, has previously worked in the Middle East prior to our meeting. She already speaks a level of Arabic and has significant cultural experience alongside relationships with some of the local people. We are praying that God might provide opportunities for her to use this experience once we have settled in.

As a family, we hope to spend our time serving alongside believers from local churches. This will most likely include teaching English as a second language to both local people and refugees, and building relationships with them through these classes.
