We are serving in Seychelles because we are convinced that God’s word is true; Jesus is returning to judge, and that loving our neighbours as ourselves may look like moving to a completely new context to help people prepare for Jesus’ return.
Ryan is the Senior Minister of the Anglican Parish of Praslin, a small island in the country of Seychelles. He looks after five congregations – leading, teaching and caring for people both inside and outside of the church. Lynne co-ordinates kids’ ministry, leads a Bible study and supports the youth group.
One of the great joys of ministry in Praslin is equipping people to access and enjoy the Bible for themselves. Across Bible studies, kids’ and youth ministry, and pastoral relationships, we are constantly trying to help people to know God through his word. In a context where traditions and ‘cultural Christianity’ can be just as much of a trap as they are a blessing, coming back to God’s word is central to every ministry.
We need your partnership because the work is difficult and we are regularly tempted to despair. But the prayers and words of encouragement from our Australian partners help us to persevere in personal godliness and ministry.
We need your partnership because your financial support enables our family to be human resources to the under-resourced church in Praslin. Your generosity as our sending partners means we can devote ourselves to loving and serving the church here.
And we need your partnership because we may plant and water, but God gives the growth. Together, we ask that God himself would bring life, transformation and growth to Seychelles.
