Summer Conference 2025
Do you feel the joy that mission brings both to the nations and to us?
We often focus on the sacrifice of mission or the plight of the world, but the Bible tells us that the nations will be glad – there will be, and there is, rejoicing and praise!
What does it look like to join with the nations in their gladness? Joyful Mission challenges us to see how God is at work around the world redeeming sadness, brokenness and fear to bring joy to those who love Him and seek Him.
Summer Conference is a must attend mission event for your calendar! A full-day conference filled with insightful talks, live panels and gospel stories. Join us as we seek to broaden our understanding of how joy and mission connect while we fellowship and worship together.
CMS exists to see a world that knows Jesus through partnering with churches to equip, send and support gospel workers as they share about Jesus across cultures. At Summer Conference 2024 you’ll hear how partnership with CMS is helping to reach the nations with the good news of Jesus.

Speakers
Ben Woodd
Ben came to know Jesus as a teenager in the UK, where he trained for ministry before emigrating to Australia. He is passionate about sharing God’s love with others and is constantly amazed at the privilege of being set aside to teach and pastor people with the word of God. Ben is Corinne’s husband and Moya, Darcy and Jacob’s dad. He is also the grandson of CMS missionaries. For the last ten years he has had the joy and privilege of pastoring Barneys Church Croydon. He loves running, eating Asian food, and playing board games.
Greg Anderson
Greg is the Anglican Bishop of the Northern Territory. Prior to this Greg was the Head of the Department of Mission at Moore Theological College, Sydney. Prior to that he and his wife worked in the Northern Territory for 12 years as CMS missionaries. Greg trained Indigenous church leaders at Nungalinya College, Darwin, and was Indigenous Ministry Development Officer for the Diocese of the Northern Territory. His interest in the Aboriginal church began when he was researching the traditional music of central Arnhem Land.
Two guest speakers, James and Miriam Woods, will join Greg. James is a community and church leader, student and Indigenous Teacher at Nungalinya College and Miriam brings a wealth of ministry experience from several years serving in the region.

Kids & Youth
Calling all kids and youth – you are invited to Summer Conference 2025! At CMS, we believe that God loves people of all ages to get involved in His global mission. Come along and spend a day engaged in mission and having fun with other kids and youth. With great teaching, fun activities and stories from missionaries, everyone who comes along will be encouraged in their faith and enriched in their understanding of God’s heart for the nations.
The Kids Conference and Youth Conference run alongside the main conference from 9am-5.30pm. There is a creche for 0-2yos and the kids programs are tailored for preschoolers through to year 6. The Youth Conference is for those in years 7-10. Year 11 and 12 students are invited to join the main sessions. Parents are welcome to register kids and youth for dinner and the evening session at no additional cost.
Meet our Kids and Youth Coordinators
Stephen Urmston
Kids Conference Coordinator
“I’m really looking forward to having fun, focusing on how we can share Jesus around the world.”
Luke Paton
Youth Conference Coordinator
“CMS Summer Conference raises our gaze to God’s mission outside our regular frame. I can’t wait to explore God’s world-wide mission with our teenagers, and how we can meaningfully find our place in something so big and personal.”
