Daily Prayer Points

Praise God with K for a new Language Centre manager! Pray for growing unity and purpose within the team. Pray with N for a continued ‘all clear’ in her annual medical checkup, and a good rest during this month’s term break. Thank God with J for the privileges of serving in her location over the last nine years. Praise God with I for regular opportunities to share about her location and reaching Muslims. Pray for an upcoming visit from a former student from her location, that it will be an opportunity to share about Jesus. Pray with L and C as they travel a lot this month—that they would stay in God’s Word regularly despite their changes in schedules. Pray for Howard and Michelle Newby and their family in the many changes they are going through as they return from the Philippines. 

Pray with Tim and Olivia Mulherin for the MMC missionary team, who continue to battle with ongoing personal and family crises. Pray with Jeremy and Jill Horrocks that the full-time PPBS students will have renewed enthusiasm for studying the Bible after their break. Pray for safety as they travel back to the school, which begins in two days. Pray for Maurice and Amanda Jacobson leaving Australia next week to return to Cambodia. ` 

Give thanks for the many partner organisations that CMS works with around the world, and pray for more such partnerships to be developed and strengthened. Ask that Mission Support Fund scholarship recipients will study diligently and reflect God’s character in their relationships. Pray especially for good health, safety when they travel, and for those who are far from family.  

Ask God that Daniel & Olivia Webster would balance good rest with good preparation for the coming semester. Pray for Kylie Zietsch to continue to grow in her love and dependence on Jesus. Pray with Nathan & Diane Lovell for the GWC students who are travelling home over the mid-year break. Pray that God would give them safe journeys and sweet reunions with their families and friends. Pray with Mike & Karen Roe for Karen (& the TEDS team) who are facilitating lecturer training this month in Nigeria and via online intensives. Pray with Co-Mission Partner Thulisile (& Thato) Mabe that the staff and students at Johannesburg Bible College will be reminded every day that everything we do is to the glory of God. Pray also that they can offer the full one-year ministry course in Alexandra Township, and that they would find a permanent place for the campus.  

Pray with Brenton & Mel Kilby for energy, relationship building and a peace that surpasses understanding during their time with partner churches, and two commissioning services this month. Pray with Mike & Katie Taylor for a refreshing break and a good time visiting family. Pray that as they share with churches about what God is doing in Tanzania, people will be moved to praise. Pray with Michael & Jean Burke for patience and progress as they wait for the necessary permits and approvals. Pray with David & Jenny Juniper for the many training seminars being held between now and September. Pray for faithful teachers and godly hearers. 

Thank the Lord with Andrew & Margaret Newman for steady progress and the Bishop’s support towards a National License for the Bible College. Ask the Lord to use them and the college staff in their weakness to be Christ-like role models to the new cohort of students. Pray with Ryan & Lynne Verghese for the AGMs across the Anglican Diocese of Seychelles–that godly people would step up to service, seek to grow in their maturity and build others up in love. Thank God with Adam & Avril Friend for the recent celebration of 160 years of Anglican ministry in Madagascar. Continue to pray for joyful perseverance in language and culture learning. 

Pray with M as the school year ends. Pray that she will set up good patterns of connecting and sharing with friends. Join Anna Radkovic in praying for Kenya as the country suffers devastating rains. Praise God for keeping the A Rocha Kenya team safe during this time. Thank God with Anthony & Trudi Elyard for the development of partnerships. Praise God for supportive churches and like-minded believers who seek gospel partnership. Praise God with Co-Mission Partners Anwar Berhe & Tsigereda Atankir that Ethiopia is becoming more stable and peaceful. 

Pray with Malcolm & Ainsley Purdey for a refreshing winter holiday for the children, and for the CEP students during their exam preparation. Give thanks with Chris & Stef Overhall for the opportunity to rest and spend time together as a family over the school winter holidays. Pray also for continued growth of students in the new teaching semester with CEP, and also for MOCLAM students in their studies. Give thanks with Frances Cook for the election of Juan Esteban Saravia as the Anglican Bishop of Santiago. Pray for him as he prepares for this role. Pray that Co-Mission Partners (CoMP) Álex (and Karina) Córdova Morales and CoMPs Andrés & Annika Ruiz Caro would continue to depend on Jesus in all they do. Give thanks with Adrian & Anita Lovell for the opportunity Adrian had to teach an intensive with ECAMM (missionary training school) earlier this month. Pray that God will raise up many to take the gospel across cultures. 

Thank God with Martin & Julie Field for the presentations of Mark Drama over last weekend. Pray for the trip with ‘Año Puente’ students from 25 June—2 July, for safety and good gospel opportunities. Pray for Amy Stephens as she seeks to build stronger relationships with the local churches in Córdoba to partner with ABUA in sharing the gospel on the university campus. Pray with Peter & Terry Blowes for the many students attending small groups who don’t know the Lord. Pray that the leaders of the groups will love them and communicate the gospel clearly to them. Thank God with Pedro & Joy Oliveira Woolmer for the regular times of prayer and one-to-one Bible reading Joy has with Christian women. Pray that God would use these deepening relationships to bring about growth and maturity in Joy and the women around her. Pray with Nick & Kysha Davies for the workshops with pastors and leaders in Calendin, as Kysha teaches Revelation and Nick teaches Acts. Pray with Co-Mission Partners Bryan & Sarah Haro Leon as Bryan finishes teaching his systematic theology class and for a good start to his Old Testament class. Pray with Sarah that her mum’s bible study will continue well. 

Thank God with Matt & Ellen Tyler for their safe arrival in Vanuatu. Give thanks for their language lessons and culture orientation classes, and pray for wisdom as they balance these with homeschooling. Pray with Joel & Tiffanie Atwood for the national university mission training camp: for wonder at the gospel, passion for evangelism, and opportunities to read John’s Gospel with many. Pray with Keith & Marion Birchley that the students who came to the Bible Summit on the Trinity will be thankful and joyful to know their triune God more. Thank God for an upcoming short break in Cairns. Pray with David Pettett for continued peace as the new government settles in. 

Praise God with Ian & Jenny Wood for a short break from classes during the NT school holidays at the end of June. Pray for their students as they put into practice the things they’ve learnt in their remote communities. Pray with Derek & Rosemary Snibson as they support a group of Indigenous church representatives in early July to explore concerns, needs and shared vision in the Anglican Diocese of the Northern Territory. Give thanks with Simon & Claire Koefoed for Katherine Christian Convention in May. Pray that God will continue to raise up Aboriginal church leaders in Anglican Aboriginal parishes and communities throughout the Northern Territory. Pray with Co-Mission Partners James (& Miriam) Woods, Marlene Andrews and Mandy Manggurra that they will persevere in their faith and encourage others to do the same. 

Pray with Chris & Karen Webb that the upcoming Kimberley Christian Fellowship Convention will be a time of encouragement as people from around the region gather to hear God’s Word. Give thanks with Matt & Lisa Pearson for the new audio recordings of some of the Psalms, and pray that they would be useful for shaping people to become more like Jesus. Pray with Josh & Steph Mackenzie that God would prepare and raise up strong leaders to lead the Numbulwar Church. Pray with Geoff & Hannah Harper that their son Simeon would have a relaxing visit after his first semester of university. 

Pray with M that more Muslims would respond to the gospel as part of the street evangelism he is involved with in Melbourne CBD. Give thanks with Lachlan & Candy Grice for the joy of gospel partnerships. Pray for encouraging conversations as they begin to visit partner churches. Pray with Sam & Bec for God’s comfort in the losses, for times of rest, and for strength as they transition from St Andrew’s Hall to their first Home Assignment. Pray for Bill & Linda Colyer as they settle back into Brisbane and visit mid-year conferences at Griffith Uni and QUT in July. Pray that Emma Payne would be encouraged by church partnerships on her first Home Assignment. Pray with S & D as they relocate back to NSW and begin deputation. 

Mentac (NSW): pray for current trainee Daniel as he follows up contacts from the Peace Tent ministry that happened during Ramadan. Ask the Lord for wisdom and energy. Pray for Mentac graduates Joel and Aimee as they make decisions about overseas mission.  

Across Cultures (VIC): Pray for ongoing fruit of cultural sensitivity and gospel-fuelled boldness for those who came to the Cross-Cultural Evangelism training day in May.   

Give thanks with D & T for good opportunities emerging for T to provide training to locals. Pray for language mercies as she prepares for and runs these sessions in the coming weeks. Pray that L would continue to settle back well into life in Australia. Thank God with Sam & Shan-Shan Chrisp for faithful gospel teaching and receptive students at the recent national high school discipleship conference. 

Pray with Kellie Nicholas for her and the KGK team as they attend the IFES East Asia Regional Conference next month in Bangkok. Ask that her elective on ‘Becoming a good steward’ will be well received by students. Pray with Chenny Thie that the four non-believers who regularly attend book club at Nakano Baptist Church will come to know God’s love and mercy for them. Pray with Elle Bryce for the people of Kyoto, that they may know and depend on Jesus. Pray also for Elle as she studies for an official Japanese language exam next month. Pray with Dene & Rachel Hughes for Bible Adventure (learning about Saul/Paul’s conversion). Give thanks for Simeon finishing Grade 10 and a summer break full of Christian camps for him!  

Thank God with Matt & Bex Ooi for the end of the academic year for Samuel and Leah. Pray that their summer vacations will be productive and refreshing, with summer camps, SEND family conference and visiting relatives. Pray with Dave & Beck McIntyre that God would keep working in them to have teachable hearts. Praise God with Steven & Sandra Parsons for the opportunity next week to gather with all members of their partnership organisation (TEAM) worldwide. Give thanks with Adam & Helane Ramsay for an encouraging recent pastoral visit. Pray with Nathan & Maki Clapham that God would open the hearts of people in Komoro. 

Give thanks with Gordon & Ruth Russell for their 23 years serving in South Asia, and for the way CMS faithfully cares for their missionaries. Pray with Bruce & Libby for strength and stamina for Libby (and her team) in a busy school term. Pray also for Bruce facilitating a healing group among expatriates. Pray with Co-Mission Partners (CoMPs) Sam & Sharmila Budhathoki as Sam works to complete his academic requirements. Pray also for wisdom about the timing of their return to South Asia. Pray with CoMPs Ashish Christian & Karuna Sharma, and CoMPs Jiwan & Binita, for boldness and courage to proclaim the gospel clearly in a hard context. 

Ask God to help A prepare (emotionally, physically and spiritually) for her two-month Home Assignment, starting later this month. Thank God with M & K that they have been able to join the local gathering of believers from a Muslim background. Pray that this group would grow in number, maturity, boldness and love for each other. Thank God with E for good connections with supporters while on Home Assignment. Pray with K (& A) as they apply for various documents that will enable them to continue serving in South Asia. Pray also as they continue in their first year of parenthood. Pray with S & E that their commissioning today would be a time of mutual encouragement, that God would comfort those who are grieving, and that they would be well prepared to move in July. 

Give thanks with R for the fellowship of believers at the international church she attends. Thank God with J & P for sustaining P through the academic year, and J through language learning. Pray for a good finish to P’s first year of teaching in Eurasia. Pray with J & S for rich fellowship and spiritual refreshment during a conference with their partner organisation. 

Pray with J as the Muslim community celebrates Eid al-Adha (the Festival of Sacrifice), that they would know Jesus, the greatest sacrifice. Pray with S & M for perseverance and realistic ambitions as they shift into summer routine with their kids, continue learning Arabic and visit families. Praise God with Dan & Marg for many blessings over the past school year, and that school’s leadership, faculty and staff all trust Jesus and care about the school. Give thanks with Gavin & Megan Rosser for the ways their church has welcomed them, and that Hosanna and Grace are settling in well. Thank God with Derk & Susan for the Bible study Derk has started as part of the Christian Life Program on campus. Pray with L that the men’s exercise class he attends will grow and draw men to God. 

Pray with B for meaningful conversations as she and her colleagues visit families for the upcoming Muslim holiday, Eid al-Adha. Pray that she would finish writing and analysis for her research project. Give thanks with C for her safe arrival in Australia for Home Assignment. Pray that it would be a time of refreshment and encouragement. Pray with J for good connections with churches, and encouraging times of preparations during her short Home Assignment. Pray with M that God would use her to encourage his people. Pray that he would mobilise many more workers. Pray with W & S for a small group of believing women from a majority background, who are taking classes to prepare for baptism this month. Pray God would deepen their faith and help them trust Jesus as they face many difficulties. Pray with S & P for wisdom as they minister to an unreached people group. 

Pray with Morgan & Olivia that the Lord would raise up the right people for the new ministry internship and church planting apprenticeship at church. Pray with Elizabeth for continued development in language learning. Pray for God’s strength, wisdom and care of the core young adults team who are making plans in her absence. Pray with John & Deb for church members over the summer holidays, that they will travel safely and continue to serve and minister wherever they are. Pray with Craig & Lisse that kids and youth ministries would finish well before the summer holidays. Pray for good rest for those teams over the break. Pray with Ray & Sandy that they would continue to depend on Jesus in all they do. 

NSW & ACT: Give thanks for all who are generously giving to the Lasting Hope Appeal. Pray that many would be encouraged to give in the coming days to support cross-cultural gospel work. 

QNNSW: Pray for the ‘reEncounter’ event on Saturday 22 June, that it would provide a good opportunity for young adults to hear from and chat with CMS missionaries from around the world. Pray that the stories of how God is at work might inspire and encourage a new generation to consider their role in mission. 

SANT: Pray for the Lasting Hope financial appeal, that people would be generous and supportive. Ask that CMS SANT would continue to trust God to provide all that they need. 

TAS: Pray that the Lasting Hope appeal might attract sufficient donations to lessen a projected deficit. Pray for State Director, Scott, as he takes some annual leave in June and July.   

VIC: Please pray for wisdom in selecting the most suitable housing properties to purchase, so that missionaries on home assignment can have a place to refresh and restore for continued long-term cross-cultural gospel work. 

WA: Please continue to pray for new and increased regular giving towards CMS WA.   

Give thanks with David & Cathie Sandifer for the end of another term at Tyndale, for good health, and for David’s several preaching opportunities that have been well received. Pray for their children as they learn Dutch. Ask God with Co-Mission Partner Jotham Booker for wisdom as he considers his workload. Pray that Klaus & Jude Hickel would encourage people to partner with global mission while on Home Assignment. 

Praise God with Simon & Jessica Cowell for the more than 100 students who attended the recent GBU conference. Pray that they would be encouraged in the mission of the gospel. Pray with Co-Mission Partner (CoMP) Andrea (& Geanne) Becciolini in this busy season, and pray for wisdom with big ministry and family decisions. Pray with Jason & Hannah Fairclough that God would guide Jason and his colleague Andrea as they think strategically about next year, that their plans would bring God glory and bear fruit. Give thanks with Gillian Law for her safe arrival in Australia for Home Assignment. Pray for her to adjust well, travel safely, and be encouraged by visits to partner churches. Pray also for the ongoing ministry in Rome in her absence. Pray with CoMPs Bostjan & Lidija Cifer for ZVESh students to continue to be active and focused on evangelism. Pray also for all the changes in their team and work. 

Pray with Jim & Tanja French for the busy month ahead with work, exams, and supporting their children and MOCLAM students. Pray that everyone will finish the academic year well, and consolidate all they have learned. Ask God to provide Lauren Raiter with patience and wisdom amid visa and residency administration tasks. Give thanks with Miriam Bradshaw for the several people doing a pre-baptism course at church. Pray for their good understanding of the gospel. Praise God with Chris & Kristy Galea for their safe arrival in Australia for Home Assignment. Pray that their family would adjust well, and that their time in Australia would be fruitful and encouraging. 

Pray with Karina Brabham for the student group at Poitiers to finish the university year well. Pray with Colin & Catherine Puffett for their upcoming Home Assignment in July and August. Pray that they would leave France well, and for their family through the transition. Thank God with Josh & Susannah Apieczonek for a great weekend with GBU students. Pray that the Spirit would use Josh’s talks from Jonah to grow and change their hearts. Give thanks with Gillian Akers for growing relationships in her new church, and for the opportunity to connect with women engaged in evangelical ministry across France later this month. Pray with Michael & Rani Grivas-Allison for perseverance and initiative as they continue getting to know brothers and sisters at church. Pray that the unity they have in Christ might transcend the cultural and language barriers. Pray with Howard & Patricia Spencer for GBU students to remain faithful during the exam period and the summer holidays. Pray that they would rejoin their groups in September. 

Give thanks with Marty & Jenny Foord for their Home Assignment in Perth. Pray that they will be an encouragement to supporting churches, and that they will have a restorative break before returning to Singapore. Pray with Christopher & Julie Dean, and with Chris & Grace Adams, for the next two-week ministry training block for evangelists from Presbyterian congregations throughout Timor-Leste. Pray for Christopher and Chris as they do some of the teaching, and for the 27 students. Pray with Malcolm & Leanne for their farewell from Hanoi Bible College in the next few days. Ask that it will bring glory to God and be a fitting end to their time there. Pray with Taulama Siuhengalu that he might find accommodation quickly, and settle into life in Vietnam. Pray with Co-Mission Partner T (& N) that they may be strong and courageous in speaking gospel truth. 

Pray with Nick & Rebekah for God to rescue a friend who seems to be shifting away from the hope of the gospel. Join Rowan in praying for the teachers and leaders of the Sunday school and young adults ministries to have a refreshing mid-year break. Pray they would be renewed in their vision and commitment to serve in the new school year in mid-July. Pray with Andrew Buchanan & Abi Tandiseru for a productive final month before returning for Home Assignment. Pray with Chris & Erin that the local church would be bold in sharing Jesus with those around them. 

Pray with Julie that her final month of full-time language class will be fruitful. Pray for good farewells as students finish and return to their home countries. Give thanks with Jon & Deborah for Jon’s opportunity to teach a course at a different Bible college, and the encouragement it has been as students have taken on board the lessons. Pray with Rebekah that students and faculty might finish the academic year with joy and diligence. Pray for the master’s students completing their class on ‘Theology of the City’, that they might join in God’s mission with urban people. Ask God with Josh & Nici for a good end to the school year for their kids. Pray also for rejuvenation as family and friends visit from Australia.
