MELT 2024
Mission Exposure | Laughter | (Bible) Teaching
Our vision as CMS is for a world that knows Jesus. We work to set apart, equip and support long-term workers who cross-cultures to share the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
MELT camp is specifically designed to help high-school students who will be in Grade 7-12 in 2024, to engage with God’s desire to make himself known across the world through his people. MELT stands for Mission Exposure, Laughter and (Bible) Teaching.
We want our participants to think on, and learn about, how the good news of Jesus is spread around the world. We want them to have a great time with lots of laughs in a beautiful environment. We want them to be taught from the Bible by engaging Bible teachers, and to dwell on God’s word in fellowship with their peers.

Our Speakers
Mike Snowdon
Mike is a servant of Jesus, married to Tania and they have four boys. He currently works as the youth minister at Willoughby Park Anglican Church and teaches Christian Ethics at Youthworks College. From 2012–2022 he worked as a CMS missionary in Spain with Grupos Bíblicos Estudiantiles (Student Bible Groups) to help youth meet Jesus. He’s also written A New Freedom, an introduction to Christian ethics for young people. He loves helping young people discover the goodness of Jesus, wherever they are in the world.
Norm & Janelle Gorrie
Norm and Janelle Gorrie know the forgiveness and love of God in Jesus and feel privileged to have worked as CMS missionaries in North Kenya (which is predominantly Muslim) for 17 years. Janelle uses her gifts in linguistics and Bible to equip parents and leaders to teach the big truths of Jesus to kids. Her Boran Bible literacy classes equipped adults who cannot read to be able to read God’s word for themselves. Norm was Director of Mission for the Diocese of Marsabit. He worked alongside Pastors, Evangelists and leaders of youth to make Disciple makers and to raise up local youth, men and women to be warriors for Christ.
Activities
A beach camp means we will head to the beach, but it doesn’t mean you have to get wet. Campers will choose one of the following as a major activity: Single stand-up paddleboarding; Dragon boating; Raft Building (and testing!); Boogie Boarding. There will be plenty of free-time to hang with friends. Everyone might also be in for a special ice-cream treat!
