Lasting Hope Appeal 2022 church resources
The CMS Lasting Hope Appeal is a great way for your church to get involved and excited about mission partnership, encouraging members to see the value of their prayer, care and giving.
You may like to dedicate a segment of your church service to promote the CMS Lasting Hope Appeal (within May and June) or use these resources for a whole service focused on mission. Below, you’ll find some ideas and resources to help promote mission partnership with CMS!
Important note on secure workers: Please check your link missionary’s security guidelines for how to mention them within your church services. If your church service is online or livestreamed publicly, do not mention the details of your secure link missionaries – refer to them by the first letter of their first name only, and as CMS workers instead of missionaries.
If you run a service focused on mission
If you are looking to run a church service focused on world mission and your link missionaries, that’s great! Here are some suggestions for mission-focused elements you can include in it.
Please also highlight the CMS Lasting Hope Appeal and encourage your church to give financially in support of your link missionaries.
Prayer
Prayer Get in touch with the prayer leader for the week and ask that they pray in particular for these three areas:
- Local mission around your church
- Your CMS link missionaries and those they are seeking to reach
- Global mission around the world
Videos
Videos Ask your link missionaries (non-secure workers) whether they can put together a video update to share with your church! You can also access a range of mission-related videos on the CMS Vimeo page.

Bible studyYou may like to put together a mission-focused Bible study based on your service sermon, or download a Bible study from CMS to use. You may also like to encourage Bible study groups to take a week to pray specifically for God’s mission and the work of your link missionaries.
