Daily Prayer Points

Pray for CMS Australia’s International Director, Peter Sholl, and Regional Mission Directors as they look for and build relationships with CMS partners. Pray that these partnerships will help strengthen local gospel witness, and support Christian leaders serving in ministry. 

Give thanks with Daniel & Olivia Webster for the privilege of serving at the Namibian Evangelical Theological Seminary (NETS). Thank God with Kylie Zietsch for holidays with friends in Durban, and pray for refreshment over the break. Pray also that she will be disciplined in her counselling study, and that it will grow and equip her. Pray with Nathan & Diane Lovell that they will continue to depend on God’s goodness and sovereignty. Give thanks with Mike & Karen Roe for the Lord’s sustaining and unfailing love through their transition back to Australia, and Karen’s continuing pedagogy courses. Pray for their family as they continue to settle, and for mutually encouraging church visits. Pray that Co-Mission Partner Thulisile (& Thato) Mabe and their family will have a restful break as they celebrate the birth of Jesus. 

Pray with Brenton & Mel Kilby for continued conversation competency in Swahili, a wonderful Tanzanian Christmas, and a refreshing break at a conference in late December. Thank God with Mike & Katie Taylor for his good provision for them and their ministry this year. Pray for a good time with their son Harry as he visits over the next few weeks. Pray with Michael & Jean Burke to continue to grow in their love of God and others. Pray with David & Jenny Juniper for a refreshing break with family before they begin supporter visits on Home Assignment. 

Praise God with Andrew & Margaret Newman for Christmas celebrations this week as many return to their home villages. Pray for the NextGen Youth Bible Training Conference next month–that the Australian and Ugandan teams will combine well, and the teaching will be strategic for ministries in the North Kigezi Diocese. Praise God with Ryan & Lynne Verghese for a friend’s visit, and the opportunity to share Christmas together. Pray for their church members to know the beauty of the incarnation–that Jesus is God with us. Pray with Adam & Avril Friend for joy and rest during their first Christmas in Madagascar. Pray for Adam as he prepares to teach his first subject (in Malagasy) in a few weeks. 

Pray with M for the staff at her work to understand why Christians celebrate Christmas, and ask that the Spirit will soften their hearts. Praise God with Anna Radkovic for the chance to celebrate Jesus coming to the world with good friends. Pray for those on the coast of Kenya who don’t yet know how great Jesus is! Pray for Anthony & Trudi Elyard as they interact with those who have asked “Why do you love us?”, including their guard. Pray for visas, a restful break, and continued language learning. Pray with Co-Mission Partners Anwar Berhe & Tsigereda Atankir as Anwar travels to Alaba town this month to teach the ‘Understanding Islam’ course for Bible School students, preach at a church, and discuss reaching Muslims with the gospel with church leaders. 

Give thanks with Malcolm & Ainsley Purdey for the new Christians at their church. Give thanks with Chris & Stef Overhall for their safe arrival in Australia. Pray for good preparation for Summer School, safe travels, and for a fun and refreshing time together while on annual leave in January. Pray with Co-Mission Partner (CoMP) Álex (and Karina) Córdova Morales for the Lord to comfort Alex after the recent passing of his beloved grandmother. Pray with CoMPs Andrés & Annika Ruiz Caro that the festive season will be a time of reflection and rejoicing for those in Santiago who love and trust Jesus. Give thanks with Adrian & Anita Lovell for the school year for their children–especially for friendships formed and good progress in Spanish. Pray for a restful break for them over December–January. 

Give thanks with Martin & Julie Field for the first year of Año Puente, the discipleship gap-year program. Pray for a relaxing break over Christmas. Give thanks with Amy Stephens for the evangelistic event on campus in November, and for those who invited friends. Pray that the message of Jesus would continue to work in the hearts of those who attended. Pray with Peter & Terry Blowes that students will continue to be able to read the Bible on campus. Thank God with Pedro & Joy Oliveira Woolmer for three groups of MOCLAM students finishing their subjects this semester. Pray for them as they prepare to take their exams. Give thanks with Nick & Kysha Davies for time to rest and catch up on work. Pray with Co-Mission Partners Bryan & Sarah Haro Leon that the women Sarah meets with will encounter Jesus and find answers in God’s Word. 

Give thanks with Matt & Ellen Tyler for ongoing conversations regarding their future language project. Pray for wisdom in these conversations and decisions. Pray also for them and their families, as they have their first Christmas away from Australia. Pray with Joel & Tiffanie Atwood for their NSW & ACT Summer School preparations, and for opportunities to share with the saints in Australia while on Home Assignment. Pray with Keith & Marion Birchley for students and graduates who attended the National Training Event (NTE) in Queensland over recent weeks. Pray that they will remember the godly truths & fellowship they experienced. Give thanks with David Pettett for the privilege of teaching the Bible. Give thanks with Bill & Linda Colyer for holidays with family. Pray for them as they prepare to leave for Vanuatu on January 15. 

Pray with Ian & Jenny Wood that God will have mercy on Darwin and the Top End through cyclone season. Pray for Nungalinya students sharing the Christmas story around the Northern Territory. Pray with Derek & Rosemary Snibson for Christmas celebrations among Indigenous families and communities around Darwin. Pray that many will find the message of ‘God with us’ a life-giving hope in their struggles. Praise God with Simon & Claire Koefoed for the opportunity to attend a SAH intensive a couple of months ago. Pray with Co-Mission Partners (CoMP) James (& Miriam) Woods for James as he travels to QNNSW and NSW & ACT summer conferences. Pray for his family to know and trust Jesus. Pray with CoMP Marlene Andrews for the church in Ngukurr, and for peace and forgiveness within the community. Pray with CoMP Mandy Manggurra for the Numbulwar, Ngukurr, Minyerri, Umbakumba, Bickerton and Angurugu communities to know Jesus.  

Pray with Chris & Karen Webb that while they are on Home Assignment (HA), God would grant stamina and wisdom for Rev Michael Baines and Rev Matt Morrison as they take on the extra load of looking after Broome Peoples Church. Give thanks with Matt & Lisa Pearson for the audio recording of more Kunwinjku Christmas carols. Pray that these songs will capture the hearts of the next generation. Pray for safety and rest for Josh & Steph Mackenzie as they return for HA. Pray with Geoff & Hannah Harper for rest and rejuvenation while on holidays, and for their preparations for SUTS 2025. Pray with Samuel & Bec Gorfine for good farewells with friends and extended family over Christmas. Pray for Maggie Crewes as she travels to Darwin for Northern Territory Diocese orientation, and meets with the Snibson’s and other colleagues. Pray for good learning, adjustment to the heat, and strong relationships. 

SAH: Pray for the Missionaries in Training preparing to move to SAH in 2025. Mentac: Pray for wisdom and eagerness for people considering Mentac next year. Across Cultures: Pray for a good cohort intake for 2025, and for a good mix of people from a variety of churches who are interested in mission. 

Pray with D & T that parents in T’s training will put new skills into practice and see renewed relationships with their teenagers thrive, and pray for this work to expand next year. Give thanks for D’s opportunity to read the Bible with a local non-Christian friend in the lead-up to Christmas. Pray with L for continued joy and growth in the Lord. Pray with Sam & Shan-Shan Chrisp that churches in Taiwan would teach God’s Word faithfully. Give thanks with Lachlan & Candy Grice for quality time away with family and close friends, and strengthening the ties that will sustain them as they move to Taiwan. Pray for their non-believing family members, that God may open their eyes to his goodness and glory. 

Give thanks with Kellie Nicholas for the many opportunities to connect with supporters on Home Assignment. Pray for a good time with family over Christmas. Pray with Chenny Thie that people will meet Jesus this Christmas season, and for KGK students to be bold in inviting their non-Christian friends to church and events. Pray with Elle Bryce for the church choir as they work towards their Christmas performance. Pray also for the Christmas wreath making event, which many non-believing friends and neighbours will attend. Pray that they may have positive and impactful impressions of the church community. Pray with Dene & Rachel Hughes as Dene comforts and ministers to some grieving students. 

Pray with Matt & Bex Ooi for Matt as he prepares to sit the N3 Japanese Language Proficiency Test this month. Pray that his skills will steadily improve as he moves forward in language studies. Pray with Dave & Beck McIntyre that this Christmas, people would understand that believers celebrate the arrival of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. Pray with Steven & Sandra Parsons that all Christian Christmas events around Japan will have a deep impact on many unreached people as they hear about Jesus. Give thanks with Adam & Helane Ramsay for a new book on kid’s ministry that has been translated to Japanese. Pray with Nathan & Maki Clapham for the Christmas wreath-making event and other parties at church. 

Pray with Bruce & Libby Hayes for QNNSW Summer School preparations. Pray also for their final Home Assignment preparations, and that they will encourage and challenge people in God’s mission. Pray with Co-Mission Partners (CoMPs) Sam & Sharmila Budhathoki for their daughter Isabel as she starts school in Nepal, that she will make good friends and continue to grow. Pray that God will continue to use their family for his glory and his kingdom. Pray with CoMPs Ashish Christian & Karuna Sharma for continued growth and delight in the Lord. Pray with CoMPs Jiwan & Binita that churches will have opportunities to share the gospel and invite non-believers. 

Give thanks with A for her ladies growth group. Pray with M & K for the Christmas celebration gatherings among small house churches tomorrow–that believers will be encouraged in fellowship and God’s grace, and that non-believers will receive the gospel. Pray with E for opportunities to host this month and share about the Saviour’s birth. Pray with K (& A) that in this season, they and their church friends will be bold in starting conversations about Jesus and inviting people to events. Pray also for wisdom for them as they help lead the Theological Training Project. Pray with S & E that they will cultivate good ways to celebrate Jesus and share joy with others during their first Christmas in South Asia. 

Pray with R that many people in her location will seek Jesus. Pray with J & P that they would continue to build and deepen relationships at their workplace. Pray with J & S for times of rest and spiritual encouragement. Thank God for sustaining S and D throughout deputation, and the encouraging partnerships formed. 

Pray with J that the Prince of Peace would bring about peace and justice in the region. Ask for provision and wisdom for J and her teammates in this season of uncertainty. Pray with S and M for an end to conflicts in the region, and for those suffering the most to experience God’s kindness and love in Jesus. Pray with Dan & Marg that all who witness the school Christmas concerts and celebrations would know and believe that Jesus is God with us. Praise God with Gavin & Megan Rosser that God is bringing many new people to their church each week. Pray with Derk & Susan that God will grant their students a fervent desire to follow him in worship and truth by the Spirit. Pray with L for a good holiday break in January, and that he will be refreshed and renewed. Pray for his team as they plan the Refugee Boys’ Club activities for the new year. Pray with M for wisdom to share about the Christmas incarnation with friends. Pray also for more team partners to help sustain him. 

Give thanks with B for encouraging reconnections during Home Assignment. Pray for God’s Spirit to be at work in the hearts and minds of those whom she will serve among in 2025. Pray with C for encouragement, strengthening and blessing for isolated believers in the Dusty City over Christmas. Praise God with J for the people in her project team, and their unique gifts and care for one another. Pray with M for R and her family, and that she may be the first of many in her community to come to know Jesus. Pray with W & S for clear opportunities to share their joy and hope in Christ with local friends over Christmas. Pray with S & P for peace in the region. 

Pray with Morgan & Olivia for their family to balance rest, ministry and growth in Christ. Pray with Elizabeth that the young adults attending the National Training Event (NTE) in Australia with her will be edified, encouraged and inspired to share what they have learnt with other young adults at home. Pray with John & Deb for the preparation of three big Christmas events coming up, and that the message will be clear and compelling. Pray with Craig & Lisse for God to sustain their family in this busy season. Give thanks with Ray & Sandy for the joyful truth that God is with us. 

NSW & ACT: Give thanks for the faithfulness of gospel workers. Pray for staff and volunteers in their final preparations for Summer School. 

QNNSW: Give thanks for the amazing team of volunteer leaders running the children and youth program at Summer School. Pray for their preparations, and for sustained energy and enthusiasm as they share Christ with the younger generation. 

SANT: Pray that churches in the SANT branch will remember and rejoice that the coming of Christ is ‘Joy to the (whole) world’. Pray they would not lose sight of God’s global mission during the festivities. 

TAS: Pray for State Director, Scott Doran-Sargent, as he travels around Tasmania to meet with church leaders, parish councils and congregations–especially as he seeks to bring new denominations and churches into the CMS fellowship. 

VIC: Pray for the Christmas appeal, and that supporters would be encouraged and generous with their giving. Pray for all the final preparations for SUTS. 

WA: Praise God for the conclusion of 34 years of ministry by J. 

Pray with David & Cathie Sandifer for God’s direction and empowering for all aspects of their ministry. Pray with Co-Mission Partner Jotham Booker that people who visit his church’s Christmas market stall will show interest in the gospel, and that many unbelievers will respond at their Christmas service. Pray with Klaus & Jude Hickel that they would proclaim Christ boldly in this Advent and Christmas season. Pray for people to be inviting their friends to church. 

Pray with Simon & Jessica Cowell for the end-of-semester GBU events. Pray also for their brief return to Australia for Christmas and NSW & ACT Summer School. Give thanks with Co-Mission Partner (CoMP) Andrea (& Geanne) Becciolini for E, a non-believing student who is keen to read the Bible at the GBU Bible studies. Pray that the Lord will grant her to be born again. Pray with Jason & Hannah Fairclough for past students considering further ministry training to have clarity and zeal in following through on good desires to serve Jesus. Pray for opportunities to point to Jesus as they farewell friends and prepare for their first Home Assignment. Pray with Gillian Law for the many non-believing students her team has met over the past few weeks of campus evangelism, public events, and personal witness. Pray that the Spirit will open minds and hearts to the gospel. Pray with CoMPs Bostjan & Lidija Cifer for the financial support of a potential ministry apprentice at their church. Pray for partners to stand alongside this apprentice, and to support gospel work in Slovenia. 

Pray with Jim & Tanja French for the various Christmas outreach events at the Anglican Church in Valencia–including a women’s meeting, gingerbread house making for families, and carols service. Pray for good catchups with MOCLAM students at the GBU conference they hope to attend in December. Pray with Lauren Raiter for the ‘Graduates of IFES Spain’ camp taking place in Valencia this week, that it will be a time of good opportunities and encouragement. Pray with Miriam Bradshaw as her church prepares a children’s and families Christmas event, that kids will be bold in inviting their friends. Give thanks with Chris & Kristy Galea for the Advent season, which brings so many gospel opportunities. Pray that people will be open to hear the good news. 

Pray for Karina Brabham to adjust well to being back in Australia on Home Assignment. Thank God for time with family over Christmas. Give thanks with Colin & Catherine Puffett for the upcoming Christmas craft event on Sunday 15 December, and pray that it will have eternal fruit. Thank God with Josh & Susannah Apieczonek for blessing and sustaining the church plant in its first year. Give thanks that non-Christians are hearing the gospel, and Christians are growing in their capacity to share Jesus. Give thanks with Gillian Akers for a wonderful and rewarding visit from her son Jonathan. Pray that Christmas outreach events will open hearts to the love of Jesus. Pray with Emma Payne for more prayer and financial partners over the coming months. Pray for Michael & Rani Grivas-Allison as they grieve the sudden and tragic death of Rani’s dad. Pray they would depend on the people around them in Belgium, and that God would work through this season of grief to deepen their relationships and roots. Thank God with Howard & Patricia Spencer for a good beginning of the academic year and an increase in the number of students in the Brussels GBU group. Pray that students will be encouraged in evangelism training and will invite their friends to study the Bible. Pray with Co-Mission Partners Leon and Oliva Le that God will give Leon the wisdom to balance family life and ministry well. 

Give thanks with Marty & Jenny Foord for the completion of another Bible college semester. Pray that staff and students will rest well over the semester break, and that faculty will prepare well for the new semester in January. Give thanks with Christopher & Julie Dean for the opportunity to see their sons, reconnect with other family and friends, and for encouraging visits to link churches while on Home Assignment. Pray with Chris & Grace Adams for the Tetun translation of ‘God’s Big Picture’ to be ready by early next year. Pray also for the planning and development of a pastors training program, and give thanks for several potential students for 2025. Pray with Malcolm & Leanne that local Christians will be bold in proclaiming Christ this Christmas season, and many more people will hear the gospel. Give thanks with Taulama Siuhengalu for God’s kindness regarding language learning and working at Hanoi Bible College. Pray with Co-Mission Partner Thủy (& Ngân) that God will provide a new stable location for their church, or the finances to continue where they currently worship. 

Pray for N & R and their kids to settle well in Australia for Home Assignment. Pray with Rowan that people will be safe as they gather for Advent and Christmas services across the country, and for clarity and creativity as the good news of Christ’s birth is proclaimed. Give thanks with Andrew Buchanan & Abi Tandiseru for the warm fellowship and generosity of their supporters on Home Assignment. Pray that Chris & Erin will make the most of the Christmas season to share Jesus with those around them. 

Pray with Julie for perseverance, and that she may share Christmas joy at university. Pray with Jon & Deborah that Bible college graduates serving throughout South East Asia will be willing to join the work of the harvest. Pray with Rebekah for grace, clarity, connection, and safety as believers seek to speak of Jesus this month. Pray with Josh & Nici for an opportunity to celebrate Christmas with friends, and for perseverance and energy at the end of the year. 

Pray with K for preparations to return to Australia for her first Home Assignment (HA). Give thanks with N to the LORD who brings light to the darkness, salvation to the lost, and glory to his name. Give thanks with J for an encouraging final HA, and Missionaries Conference on 15-17 December. Praise God for J’s faithful service with CMS for over 30 years. Give thanks with I for the prayer and love she has received while grieving the death of her mother. Pray with L & C for the Christmas outreach at the local church this month.

Pray for Tim & Olivia Mulherin as they prepare to return to Australia this month for their first Home Assignment. Pray especially for their children as they go through another big transition. Pray with Jeremy & Jill Horrocks for teachers and students at HOPE International School to continue with enthusiasm in their studies as they head towards the Christmas break. Pray for Phnom Penh Bible School students to have opportunities to share Jesus during holidays. Give thanks with Maurice & Amanda Jacobson for the end of another term at Elim Bible School. Pray for safety for students as they return home for the break.
